The wait is over. Christopher Chong, the talented creative director at Amouage has devised the latest masterpiece from the House of Amouage.  The Amouage Library Collection, a trio of remarkable, precious fragrances that celebrate integrity, originality and virtuosity.

AMOUAGE OPUS I  A glorious Chypre fragrance, built around a warm, floral heart of Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Rose, Lily of the Valley and Tuberose. Top Notes of Bigarade, Plum and Cardamom add spice and individuality, whilst woody base notes of Guaiac, Cedar and Sandalwood, along with Tonka Bean, Vetiver and the House’s signature note of Frankincense provide an epic and bold closing chapter. The narrative, olfactory evolution of this fragrance was inspired by the start of a pilgrimage in search of knowledge.

AMOUAGE OPUS II  A majestic Fougere inspired by the heady and evocative fragrances of old books, dark wooden shelves and antique armchairs. Amouage Opus II opens with a rare and magical combination of Pepper, Pink Bay, Absinth and Lavender in the top notes. These notes unfurl to reveal a heart of Jasmine, Rose, Cinnamon and Cardamom. The base of Cedarwood, Amber, Frankincense and Patchouli conclude the fragrance with a soft, smoky, masculinity that contrast beautifully with the floral heart notes.

AMOUAGE OPUS III  Inspired by the art and science of the creative process, from the darkest moments of frustration, to the brightness of enlightenment and discovery. This radiant Floral Oriental fragrance is built around daring heart notes of Violet, Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Ylang Ylang. These are introduced perfectly by top notes of Carnation, Broom, Mimosa, Nutmeg and Thyme. The vibrancy of the fragrance in anchored by earthy notes of Ambrette Seed, Papyrus Benzoin, Frankincense and a trilogy of woods in the base.

Laura Tonatto was born in Turin, Italy, where she still lives and creates fragrances. She inherited her ‘nose’ from her grandmother and perfected this skill first with Hassan, a master perfumer in Cairo, in 1983, and then with Serge Kalouguine, at the Parfumerie Fragonard in Grasse, Provence. Laura Tonatto has been creating perfumes since 1986. It all began in a small shop in Via Brera, Milan, where she was soon visited by her first important customers, people who were looking for a custom made fragrance. Through the years she has created custom fragrances for discerning clients such as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The only things we would add to this list is to use perfume samples first before purchasing a product. Finding the right new fragrance for your collection is sometimes tough. There’s so many different colognes, perfumes, and fragrances out there where do you start? Finding the right perfume ‘flavor’ is a bit like researching information in a report or paper. You need to wade through the mass of mens and womens perfumes, reviews, and recommendations to find the right scent for your collection.

Well, that’s where perfume samples come in. A Perfume Sample is designed to give a man or a woman a brief look into a specific fragrance (or fragrances if you purchase one of our multiple sample sets).

What we first recommend is to purchase the samples from our Online designer fragrance store that interest you.

When your samples arrive, open each vial and put a dab of cologne on a strip of paper. Take a sniff of each cologne or perfume. If you don’t have strips of paper you can simply open the vials. We also recommend that you take a sniff of fresh coffee beans between testing each vial and limit the amount of fragrances you smell in one sitting so that your olfactory senses do not burn out.

Once you have narrowed down the fragrances you wish to explore further (to add to your collection), we suggest taking one sample at a time and putting a dab of perfume / fragrance / cologne on your wrist and inhaling the scent periodically. Keep in mind that this part of the process will take a few hours per sample. The goal of smelling each perfume sample is for you to develop your feelings about the fragrance.
